This story, which I pitched and was published in Reuters, features my photography, video, and reporting on Dr. Mayank Amin, a local pharmacist celebrated as a superhero in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. Known for distributing thousands of vaccines as a small independent pharmacist, Amin often works late into the night, vaccinating high-risk groups such as minors with critical health conditions. He manages thousands of emails and calls and reads personal stories from those in need of a vaccine, frequently administering any leftovers he has. The 36-year-old lives in Lansdale, Pennsylvania, with his parents to stay close to the pharmacy, while his expectant wife resides in Piscataway, New Jersey. He travels to New Jersey when possible but has missed ultrasounds, parenting classes, and opportunities to house hunt due to his demanding work schedule.
